ALL CLASS INFORMATION
MISSING EQUIPMENT:
Regrettably we are missing a lot of equipment from our program. In particular we have lost/mis-placed 25 memory cards. My guess is they are hiding under beds, stuck in lockers, or in a pocket in the laundry. At eight dollars a piece that is nearly $200 worth of cards. I am also missing two Nikon cameras. Can you please talk with your student and have them look through their rooms for any Arts AV gear. |
STUDENT SHOWCASE:
The following video was put together with the help of a lot of students throughout Arts AV. In particular Connor Haroldson, Ryan Issacson, and Kyra Allen were the film crew during production. Keep your eye out though as many other students show up as extras/actors throughout the video.

INDIVIDUAL CLASS NOTES:
YEARBOOK: Deadline 5 has now past and you will see a grade soon for that page. In the past, and I hope this year as well, most of my yearbook students decided to come in during parent-teacher conferences for a few hours to make page corrections and get ahead on future deadlines. Two weeks per deadline is a tight window so working staying up on corrections and working ahead is a great idea for all yearbook students and Parent Teacher Conferences provide an awesome block of time for students to come and get ahead. VIDEO: We have begun production of a new recruitment video for the Health Occupations cluster. Students will spend this week filming and next week editing the package together. GRAPHIC DESIGN: Last week we covered the extremely important lecture on C.A.R.P. It would be great home practice for you to ask your student to explain the acronym to you (Contrast, Alignment, Repetition, Proximity). It would also be meaningful practice for you to have them break down various designs in your house (cereal boxes are great for this). Coming up we will begin designing some fun practice type projects with these theories in mind as we prep for our big company publications for the final. BROADCAST: Aaron Walling from KTVF was our guest speaker on Friday. All students were very receptive and engaged. It was very fun to see them talking to a pro and asking good questions. We will be taking the next two weeks off of Hawk HIT News production as they film their group news packages. You can check in on them by asking how the progress is going in filming their interviews this week. PHOTOGRAPHY: We changed plans last week and began our unit on black and white photography. Students shot their pictures on Friday and we will spend the week editing and critiquing them. By the end of the week we will begin our unit on environmental portraits. For the portraits assignment they will be required to shoot pictures of their family members in a "meaningful" environment. So, over the weekend don't be surprised if they begin requesting you to pose for pictures in a common environment for you. |
